I would say it will be start of his own offroad racing series. Kind of like the old Micky Thompson one.

You hit the nail on the head. Shop here in NC is for sale and the operation is moving back westward.
 
I always heard he was a down to earth guy. I wish him the best in this. I wonder if they'll race in Bank of America Stadium?
 
I havent worked for him for several years, so I am out of touch with him. I will get more info when available.

Out at KOH, when he did his qualifying run on Chocolate Thunder, he parked and came up the hill to sit with everyone else and watch. I thought that was pretty cool.
 
Awesome classic footage! When I was a kid and ESPN was a new thing, the happiest day of life was staying up untill 1 or 2 in the morning to catch these races. I know... I am a dork!
 
I thought he was cool when we worked on some of his off road pit crew trucks. When we went to his shop he give us all the monster we could drink and some swag ta boot.
 
When I worked for him back around 2000 - 2005, we were all in McDonalds eating one afternoon. There was a kid sweeping, mopping and generaly working his ass off while all the rest of the punks just stood behind the counter and watched him. Robby asked him if he liked working here? Kid said that it sucked, but he was saving for his first car. RG said, get in the truck, I just hired you. Kid just grinned at him and got in the truck with us. I gave him a ride home that night, and he asked me, who is that guy that just hired me? The kid went to Dakar with him 3 times before he left the team to go to college.
 
That's a pretty damn cool story.^^
 
Wonder if he is going to race in it? This could be a serious draw away from the LORRS and TORC circuts. Hmmmm..... I like it! IROC style racing on dirt, tune your shocks and hit the track.
