What psi?

I have BFG Rugged Trail_LT265/70/17_Load E tires on my Dodge 1500 Mega Cab (2500 chasis). The max psi for the tires is 80.......For everyday driving what is the best/safest psi to run? I want these tires to last as long as possible.

On a side note - what is the difference in running a "P" tire vs a "LT" on my tuck?

Probably around 55 front and 45-50 rear.

P tires are passenger car tires and have much more flexible sidewalls and quieter tread designs. An LT tire particularly in a load range E will have a much stiffer sidewall, but also can carry a lot more weight. I imagine a typical P tire is rated at 2000lbs per tire, whereas an LT load range E would be rated at around 3500lbs per tire.

I only run about 35-40psi in the rears on my 2500 when its empty.

I don't know that there's a "right" number... but on a pickup, the pressure numbers on the door usually account for there being some load in the truck.

I run the numbers on the door sticker except a little less in the rear since I'm not running around with 1,500 lbs in the bed.
