if you already have air impacts for the big stuff, i say go for the 3/8 for small stuff, convenience, and maneuverability. i have a little 1/4 hex drive porter cable 18volt, with 1/4 and 3/8 socket adapters, and i use it constantly instead of ratchets and wrenches, much less fatigue on you.

The one I linked is the same size as the 1/4 and 3/8 drive ones, just with a 1/2" drive...
