been putting together ideas for a new buggy. since i have countless cruiser axles laying around, i'm looking at doing something a little lighter/smalller with a rear/mid engine set up running the thirds flipped(yes i realize the rear r&p won't last long but as i stated, i have plenty and i also have a full float rear so swapping thirds is faster than changing a birwhat).no rear stear, i like having it now but you really need three arms to keep up with everything. i have most details figured but haven't concluded on the transfer case yet. anybody know what type the comp guys are using in buggies with way offset rear diff? i could go w/ a cruiser case but the lack of front dig and strength make it less than than my first choice. although... PJ seems to have great service from his cruiser case.

if you are doing rear/mid engine....alot of the comp guys angle the drivetrain in the frame so that the rear output point towards the front tire, and then the front output is already offset to the same side when using atlas/staks/300. I assume you are using the offset cruiser rear...not quite as offset as the comp guys are running, but it should still work.

the offset engine/trans does work but only in a big chassis or a single seater. i run this set up in my cruiser on 2.5's but i have alot room at 128" and consequently, ALOT of lbs. anybody know some one running the orion case?
