What tire to run

I recently got a 99 tj, and im waiting on my lift to get here. it will arrive the first week of sept. but anyways its a 6 in lif and i know im putting on 35s, but i dont know if i should go as wide as 12.5 on my stock 15 in rim or just run 11.5. my concern is if 12.5 will bubble too much around the lip of the rim and cause it to wear the tread unevenly. and also do you guys suggest getting all terrain or standard mud tires? it is my every day driver for the most part so i dont want to be in trouble when it rains.

For street driving, I really like the BFG ATs instead of the BFG MTs. I also have run 33x12.5 on 6 or 7" wheel. The center tread wore very quickly. I tired to keep the air pressure down around 25psi.

12.5" tires on 8" rims is not a problem. Myself and lots of others, have and do run that combo frequently. 12.5" tires on 7" rim may be ok but probably pushing it.
6" of lift is unnecessary for 35's and also will be a little scary on a short wheel base vehicle. I'd be looking more toward a 3-4" lift for that tire size.
M/T vs A/T really depends on how your going to wheel. Mostly highway, trail, etc? Decide that then you can get a better idea of what type tire you need.

If you do mostly garage wheeling, and jackstand cruising like Foreman, pitbulls work really well for cluttering up floor space, very stable off camber for pilling stuff on. his 8" rims work great for standing on so he can wipe the dust off the top of his jeep:flipoff2:

I have 8.5" rims now, thankyou very much!
Even better for reaching the top of my Jeep.:D

If your rims are the "style steel" they are 15x7"

A set of AR65 15x8 steel rims would be perfect and not expensive. About $65 each.
As for ire, my current favorite is the TRXUS MT. On mt third set. Great road manners including the best wet traction for a mud terrain. Never got stuck off road.
