What type of radial tire works best for stock/slightly modified 4x4's at URE?

Mudder, A/T, Something in between?

Heard good things about Goodyear Duratrac's. 4Wheeler said new Falken works good on rocks but the tread looks too streetish.

Any at's if its dry, cut boggers if its wet!!!

I love my mtr/k's. but snappy is right wet you need paddles not lugs.

This should be in the newb section..

I like round tires for URE..

Depends on the conditions. An A/T tire will do fine if it is dry, but suck if it is really wet. A mud tire will do fine if it is dry or wet.

40" sticky trepadors

Swamper Thornbirds are generally the best because of the linear tread and the large side lugs.

However, I've also had good success with BFG MT's, BFG AT's, Dunlop MT's, Swamper TSL's, Swamper TSL SX's, Swamper Iroks, Maxxis Creepy Crawlers, and Procomp Xterrains. Of those the Iroks were the best, but the Xterrains were extremely good in the dry.

Looking at something like Goodyear Duratrac or Cooper Discoverer S/T MAXX™. Aggressive for most terrain except deep mud. Looks like there are more biting edges to grab rocks than a true mud tire.

I tried 29 x 10.50-15 Thornbrids back in '95 I think. They were ok, droned like B-17 and worked best on my friends geo Tracker with Calmini Lift. looked like mini-monster.

BFG KM2!!!!!!!!100% for this usage!! man I love those tires, not real noisy and they wear good on the highway and work great in the nasty!!!! (well fairly dry nasty)

In the past I've tried:

Mud King XT
Sport King AT
BFG AT
General Grabber AP
General Grabber MT
Bridgestone Dueler MT
Super Swamper Radial
Super Swamper SX
Super Swamper Bias

From my experiences:

Dry:
-BFG A/T
-Falken Rocky Road (although they get cut up easily and will need to be rebalanced)

Wet:
-BFG KM2
-Hancook mud terrains
-Maxxis Bighorns

I'v got Falken Rocky Mountains. Just looking at them, their too flat in a rotational configuration, in other words not 'luggy' enough for the Grip thing. Great on the street or dirt roads, even fields around here. I live south of Wadesboro in the sandy and sometimes slimey dirt. Point is, I wouldn't recommend these for luggy traction or wet traction up at Uwharie.
