Some friends and I have a wedding to attend next week and decided to make a week of it.
I've got a house booked in Corolla for the week. I haven't ever spent any time in Corolla and have not been to the outer banks since high school (to party). So am looking for input as far as what else to do that maybe I wouldn't find unless otherwise directed.

Surf fishing and general beach-going is a given for activities.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to beach driving / fishing locations? I'll have 2-4wd vehicles and my dual-sport motorcycle down there but none of my wheeling rigs (street tires).

Any restaurant recomendations or other activities ( other that touristy crap like mini golf & parasailing) to try/ do? There will be a 1 yr old in the group so kid activities as well as adult are eligible.

I'm really looking forward to turning off the cell phone for a week and shutting out work etc.:bounce2:

I love the Outer Banks, I mainly go there to surf fish. Don't forget you need a fishing license to surf fish now in NC. As long as you air down your street tires, you should be OK on the beach, just don't let the tide get your car! Also check out this forum: http://forum.reddrumtackle.com/

I spend a decent amount of time in Corolla/Carova. Do a deep sea trip, kayak using outer banks expeditions. I never really eat down there......usually liquid diet and fish so no help there. Who are you renting through?

Yeah I have a Saltwater license, and fish offshore as regularly as possible. I just couldn't justify towing my boat out there with only 4 days of my trip being eligible for fishing not even counting the weather (which right now looks like Sunday & Monday will be out for fishin in any boat)

I stay way the heck away from the waterline since the time in college that I got stuck at low tide on an incoming tide and frantically searching for a tow before my jeep was turned into a U-boat... I made it out but scared me straight on beach wheeling. (ah, to be 18 again..:shaking:.)

Never stayed that far up but I know know Hatteras like the back of my hand. Spanish may still be around, blues will definitely be. Not much "structure" up there so I have never fished it. Iwould head down to Oregon Inlet and fish the tides using 4" Gulp Alive white/glow mullet. Or bring a cast net and catch mullet in the sound/surf. should be thick by then

We should do a meet and greet fish tourney!

We need to get an NC4X4 surf fishing tourny going down there.

There needs to be a tournament within a tournament (TWT) in this one for  drinkin champion too.

Sounds like you've already picked out the dates. I'll have to do some 'pre fishing' next week!
