Working on drums / brakes. I have always used a driver of somekind and just tapped a notch to get the big ole nut started but I'd like to start doing it right. Just kinda looks like a big nut.:flipoff2: What tool do you guys use? I searched and can only find the pronged front tool - like everywhere. Can't find for rear? Is it just a big ole socket? Any idea on size?

Huh...how about that, I always thought it was the same big pronged thing.

How often do you need to be removing the nuts?

Not sure if it's of any benefit, but I was at Northern Tool the other day and they had a small section of specialty automotive stuff, and they had the big pronged thing for the 44 and the 60, but I didn't look for what you're describing.

I have one, I will send it to you, as long as you send it back when you are done

or I can give you the Napa part number take your pick, it runs about $30

I prefer destroying my own tools.:flipoff2: Plus, am I going to bug you every time I need this rascal. LOL I work straight across from a Napa. A part number would be MUCH appreciated!

The pronged thing for the front that you other guys are mentioning does not fit a rear. Not even similar.

The rear nut needs removed any time you do brake work. What's that, every 20,000 miles?

part number is KD 2437

the size is 2 9/16th's

this fit the front and rear of my dodge dana 60's

be prepared you also need a 1" drive breaker bar or ratchet to fit this big socket
