What tool is this?

Is this a tool to press on bearings or is it a bearing packer?? I'd like to locate one of these if it's a press of sorts.

I've always had to take my carriers to a shop to have the bearings pressed on. It would be nice to do it myself.

Anybody used one on a tight clearance bearing? Do you have to use a chisel to get clearance under the bearing?

Chase carries them at ECGS, run about $300+

If you are Jeff B, you can use one of the finger type pullers, maybe...

My experience has been that even with a lot of care, the finger type pullers are going to do some damage to the bearings, even using a clamshell, but.........YEMV.
