This past weekend I was hanging out at a buddy of mines property. A guy come up in a 2004 jeep that was pretty much stock and was checking out my poison spider fender flares. I told him that they were strong enough to stand on and he asked if the could check them out. I told him to stand up there and crow. He hopped up and down on it a couple times and slipped and fell on my hood. He didn't try to catch himself with his hands he would rather save his 50 cent beer then keep from damaging my property. He landed with his shoulder and ass on my hood. It dented my hood and I let him know that I was not happy. He laughed it off and try to knock the dents out. I told him that was not good enough. I could see that arguing my point was pointless because he was drunk. So I waited the next day and confronted him. I told him he needed to get a quote from the dent wizard or a body shop. He said it's a jeep, it's suppose to have dents. I told him that my jeep wasn't suppose to have dents in it from his ass and I wanted it repaired. He said go dent my hood and it will make it even. I told him that I wanted it repaired and that denting his hood wouldn't get the dents out of mine. My buddy who owned the property said no arguing so I dropped the point, but I still want my fucking jeep fixed!

I value the opinion of most of the people on this board.

Your bad. You told a guy (drunk or not) to get on your fenders and make his presence known. Fix your own shit, and lesson learned. :shaking:

Had you not suggested a drunk guy get on your fender, he wouldn't have fallen on your hood. Although you never asked him to fall on your truck, you are responsible for getting him up there, therefore, you are responsible for fixing your dent. I'll send you the bill for my legal advice later....

^What he said...this one is on your dime.

^^^ looks like they told you what you didn't want to hear.^^^ But I have to agree its your dime. Was the guy one of your bud's?

Did the guy spill his beer?

If he was an upstanding guy, I would expect he would man up and pay for his mistake. Looks like that isn't going to happen, so it comes down to what is worth your trouble. You could probably pursue it in small claims court, and maybe even win, but is it worth it? Maybe offer to let him work it off somehow. Maybe call your car insurance and say you were parked in a mall parking lot and when you came out there was a guy standing on your fender and he fell when he tried to run away.

For some reason, calling the other guy a non-upstanding guy then telling Badog to commit insurance fraud in the same paragraph just isn't sitting well with me.

yeah it sucks....and if it were me that fell on your hood Id feel responsible to repair it within reason.

that said, I dont think you can force him since you said get yo fat ass up there...

just my humble opinion

I'm looking at it from the viewpoint that it were me telling some random guy to get on my fender and "crow." If I were going to do something that stupid I'd feel like an ass coming back at him asking for (demanding) money after he fell.

On the other hand, if I had fell on your hood, as long as you weren't an ass about it afterward I'd consider paying for half the damages. No way would I pay for the full repair amount, and wouldn't pay one red cent if you got all pissy about it.

I'm with 13bullets...I'd feel responsible to some extent and would offer to make things right within reason. But if you decide to pursue this leagally (which you'd end up losing money) or got your pannies in a wad, you wouldn't see a dime. That being said, that's why I don't let folks even lean against my 'nice' rigs anymore...I've had one too many zippers/buttons/etc. scratch fresh paint to let anyone be a jackass around them. Usually, I get the reply...c'mon man it's just a truck...yeah they're MY trucks, so please respect MY wishes...you can do whatever you want with your rig.

thanks for the input. I can see your points... and yes... ya'll are right I really didn't want to hear those answers, but that was in the back of my mind that I told him to climb up there and crow... lesson learned.

does any one have any tricks for getting dents out TJ hoods?

$250 simple assult fine.

If there's no crease...you could try a *rubber* plunger to make it better...there will still be some ripples though. My suggestion would be to let a body shop pop it out though, a couple hundred bucks and you'll be good to go.

Flip it over and let him jump om it again!

If they are that bad, it will probably be cheaper just to buy another hood and have it painted. I had a similar problem with the tailgate on my pickup. Cheaper to replace.
