Its a dana 80 out of a 96 or 97 dodge 12v manual cummins. whats it worth? guys seling for 800 seems high

I wouldn't pay more than $250 or so. $300 at the most. I have noticed that "diesel guys" price their used parts quite a bit higher than "4x4 guys", so i do see d80s for those prices now and then, but would never pay that.

alright thanks, what about a dana 60 front driver drop? out of the same truck

i have seen those go from anywhere to as low as $500(pretty rare) to normally up near 800 or so, but I'm sure other will chime in with what they have seen

The fronts are awefull. The use unit bearings and are low pinion. The Dana 80 is a monster for offroad and a 14 bolt or 70 is plenty for most of us.

Dana 80 - $100 to $250

Dana 60 - $200 to $400

what front do you recommend?

That's a bit high but in the ballpark, if its got a power-loc that's worth about $250-300 by itself. I sold an open dana 80 DRW a while back for $500 and the guy was very happy to get it for that, junkyards are usually over $1000.

Price ? It really depends on what you are looking for and what its got..

I paid a whopping $300 for a 14b one time.. It was in great shape, had the gears I wanted, confirmed low mileage, brakes were perfect, e-brake cables weren't cut, and it was out of the same application so it was a true bolt. Well worth the extra.
