Whats everybody readin???

I love reading nonfiction outdoors related books. I need a new one now.

I read The Beast in the Garden a while back and it was really good.

I've been reading The Lapis Goat, written by my friend Rob Usnick.

Just finished reading Dinosaurs Before Dark to the kids, a couple of chapters at a time, and started The Wind in the Willows with them earlier today, before reading Goodnight Moon for the millionth time. @shawn got to read them Curious George and Harry the Dirty Dog before bed, I think.

E-book only right now, said it's the first of three.

I'll make some suggestions from some stuff I've read in the last couple yrs.

Legendary hunters of the southern highlands and A history of hunting in the great smokey mountains. Both books by Bob Plott of North Carolina, great stuff! Everyone I've handed these books off to loved them.

Deep survival-Laurence Gonzales I liked this book and felt like a nerd because of it.

The golden spruce-john vailiant, interesting story

A walk in the woods- bill Bryson, I heard they're making this into a movie, I imagine it will suck.

Lost in the jungle-Yossi Ghinsberg, crazy survival with a real mystery

Anything by Jon Krakauer, I've lost track of the books I've read by him but they're all good, he could interest me in just about anything I believe.

Back in the fight-story of Joseph Kapacziewski, I believe the only amputee soldier to return to combat.

And if Yall have a twisted sense of humor pick up a Tucker Max book, entertaining at least!

I just realized how many books I have on loan, damn

Im not much on e books or Kindle. For me its about goin and lookin thru the books, seein the cover and makin a selection and takin it home.Sounds kinda corny but I'm old school like that.

I like real books, but love the convenience of the kindle. Plus, the kids can't lose my bookmark. When I can manage the trip, we take full advantage of the library.

For anybody who likes sci fi, I read a trilogy by A.G.Riddle, The Atlantis Gene, Atlantis Plague, Atlantis World.

The Hangman's Daughter books are pretty interesting historical fiction. Can't remember the exact names, but I promise they're not bodice rippers.

I did read the Elizabeth Smart book last year, first one in probably 15 years. Very interesting.

Do you see inflections of your friend in his writing? I read Stephen King a lot and wonder is he like that in person, if you hung out with him would that darkness show?

My favorite author was Vince Flynn. The poor guy died of prostate cancer a couple of years ago.

my sister just sent me a book by Ron Rash called something rich and strange
it is short storys, the first one blew me away.seems to be good so far

I have a whole list of stuff I'd read, if/when I have time... the Travis McGee series, stuff by Stephen King, Tolkien, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Dick Francis mysteries, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
