Whats the hot setup for HD TJ steering?

Wow! All this over a guy asking a question about some steering?o_O

Starting to sound like Pirate4x4 over here!:D

Matt you won't be able to run the "T" style setup where the drag link connects to the tie-rod. The body of the passenger tie-rod and the stud from the drag link will hit the track bar mount if you go under the knuckle and sway bar if you go over the knuckle and the hi-steer kit you have will require that you completely rework the track bar and mover it up a few inches on the axle end.

I build a setup similar to what Scott posted earlier in the thread using Heims. I've probably done 30 jeeps with that setup and had great luck no complaints. My best advice is to get as far away from the variable toe inverted Y setup and do a slid tie rod knuckle to knuckle. Just keep in mind that you'll need a bend in the tie-rod and drag link to clear the sway bar mounts and track bar mount on the axle.

I think we ought to clear up some confusion and semantics going on here.
Crossover steering, when the tie rod connects driver and passenger knuckle andl the draglink connects separately to the passenger knuckle.
Inverted T, when the tie rod connects both and drag link connects to the tie rod.
Inverted Y, stock jeep setup , drag link connects to pass knuckle and tie rod connects to it. For a stock axle jeep this is the setup to go with.

I thought this post sounded too smart for the user picture, then I noticed the pink diamond. Turdbag.

Anyway, for the time being, I'm going to finish actually getting the axle under the jeep and see how much clearance I have. I don't mind relocating the swaybar mounts, or trackbar for that matter.

I got the Teraflex steering installed, and everything works great. False alarm. I didn't think it would work with 2.5" of lift, but there's about 4-5" of clearance for the draglink, so it should be good to go.
