nothing yet, but could be the 'set up'' for one.

Well I emailed the first one back before I got the second one, so we'll see.

This could be fun!

Hey did you find those adapters for that dude?

They just want your email address

Toss your computer in the next passing truck...they :alien:have locked on to you. Take your shoes off and Run South, let the truck take the computer north...get tin foil and build yourself a hat. Wear that hat for the next 36 hours...if they have'nt found you by then, you can come home,...crawl...dont walk or run, but watch your back. Be careful who you talk to...tell noone about the tin foil hat, or what it's for...if folks look at you strange, they are probably in on it. DONT TRUST ANYONE:shaking:.....and you dont know me.

They want your email count on getting a lot of spam in mail!!!!!!!!!!!!! Becarefull not to open any of it becasue there is a good chance it will contain a virus.

Had a return Email this AM. It had a link supposedly for the pic, it was to an imagehosting site and it wanted my CC # to sign up and view the pic. Guess thats the scam?

Now to have some fun with this. :huggy:

I really doubt they are harvesting e-mail addresses one at a time now. You'd need a list with at least 50,000 addresses to even think about making any money by re-selling it to spammers for their use. I don't think even the Nigerians would waste that much time on collecting e-mail addresses one at a time.

For the most part, E-mail lists are harvested via all those online contests/freebies that you see. They'll create the site, post ads on various websites, and wait for you to come to them.

And IP addresses are nothing special to be harvested. With the right tools your home PC can scan IP addresses at a rate of tens or hundreds of thousands per hour and let you know if there is a host at the other end. I don't know what they would want with a big list of e-mail addresses and IP addresses. In any case, your IP address will likely change in the next few weeks/months anyway so such a list would be pretty useless.
