What's this?

So in the process of moving in the new house I've found some fun things. Like trying to identify all the light switches and where exactly they go. I found this outside the side door. I've got another near the front door too but we don't have a key and I have no clue what it is. Does anyone else have something like this?

It looks similar to the alarm switch that the shop next to mine uses. I have a key so I can switch it off if im up there after hours. His is just a motion sensor/noise maker.

I could only guess that the previous owner installed that lock to enter the revolving wall that leads straight down into the subterrainial torture chamber.

Almost certainly for an old ass alarm system.

Take the screws out, jump the wires, see what blows up! Or which light turns on.

I've seen them be garage door openers, alarm arming/disarming, sprinkler system shut off/arming

follow the wires on the back side if you can, what ever it is shouldn't be that far away

Thanks guys. They had an old alarm system. You can see remnants on a few places. No sprinkler system though.
