i just bought my son who just started driving a 97 Jeep Cherokee Sport. I now has stock 235/75/R15 tires on it, I want to put larger wheel and tires to make it look better. Donot want to install any lift or do any cutting at this point. Need him to have a little more driving time before we do any of that. Any suggestions would be great, how large can I go without lift or cutting.

I had 31s on some offset wheels with 3.5" lift. The front tires rubbed the fender flares at full lock. I had the rear sway bar off, and the tires would rub and knock off the rear flares off under full flex.
With something bone stock, I wouldn't go bigger than 30"s on stock wheels.

I think you would have to do a 2 inch lift at least to clear 30s if you don't want to lift it any I'd prob just go with a agressive 235 to make it look a little tougher

I ran 30x9.5 on stock 15" rims on my 93 ZJ for a long time when it was stock. Even that size rubbed a little and required some trimming of the plastic bumper cover. This is. A ZJ and not an XJ of course

We run a '97 Country XJ around the farm with 235's....225 were stock & it rubs every now & then.
