Wheel bearing setup??

Hey folks. Working on my Hudson 5ton trailer performing some annual maintenance. Got new tires and noticed my wheel bearings were loose on one side. I pulled it down, repacked and going back for reassembly. Anybody know what the torque specs should be to set the preload on these bearings? I set them up the first time by tightening up the bearing while spinning the wheel until it hit one revolution. Not the most scientific way. Any pointers or is this the best I can do?

Not sure about that specific setup. But if it were mine, i would tighten them as tight as i could possibly get them, then back the nut up and do what you were talking about.
 
I was told 80ft/lbs then back off 1/4 turn.
