Wheel clean up

I have inquired a set of american racing outlawII wheels that have an acrylic clear coat over spray on them. What is the best way to remove this? If they don't polish up i am going to powder coat them black.

aircraft remover (paint stripper) in the blue metal can. get it at carquest,autozone,advance.....

use rubber gloves, apply with disposable paintbrush, wait 20 minutes, spray off with hose pipe. i did it to 3 sets of stock chevrolet alum wheels to get the crappy glazed clearcoat off. then polished them to a lustrious shine. only problem is that if there are any colored accents on the wheel, they wont be there when you get done.
