I'm currently running Spidertrax 1.25" spacers and 15x8 wheels with 4" backspacing. I'm looking at 15x9 PSC Spyderlocks with 3.5" backspacing and was wondering what options I have with my spacers?

I understand the 1/2" backspacing means they will stick out a 1/2" more on each side, but where does the extra 1" wheel width come into play? Do they have the potential of sticking out even more than a 1/2" on each side?

Whether it is true or not, I feel like the rig is more stable on the rocks with the wider stance from the spacers, but I'm not intersted in them sticking out too much more because of the stress on the hubs and with so much weight sticking out past the axle the ride on the road starts to get rough. If I wanted to maintain roughly the same wheel base, or slightly narrower, what options do I have? Smaller spacers?

a 9" wide wheel with 3.5" of backspacing will stick out 5.5 from the mounting flange on the axle.

8" wheel with 4" will stick out only 4" from the mounting flange. now add the 1.25" spacer and you will be 5.25".

so the spyderlocks should give you a 1/2" wider track width total.
