Me and a group of friends have a wheeling trip coming up and we were planning to go to a park in Alabama but some things have come up and now we are wanting to stay a little closer. We have 3 days of riding to fill and we are all in buggies. So far we have been looking at windrock, golden mountain and Rausch creek. Any of these able to fill up 3 days? Any others we should consider? Thoughts and opinions on these parks and others appreciated. We have been to Harlan 3 times and want to experience another place.

Thanks.

Windrock and Golden Mnt are within a couple of hours of each other, could spend a day/day 1/2 at each.

I third, or forth, Windrock. Haven't been to the other 2 but Windrock could fill your time.

It would take three days to cover windrock in an ultra 4 race buggy damn near!

Hit rattle rock trail first and see where y'all stand timewise. ;)

I can't see the love for Windrock. We went and rode and done some of the big boy trails even ran rattlerock backwards at 2 in the morning. Its just so far to everything. I personally would not take my buggy back exept to run Waldons Ridge. It would be a riot in my old sammi with a radio and a windshield (to block the dust) on 33s where I could run for long distances just for fun and it would take less roughage to keep me entertained. I would also think it would be a good time in a SxS. It was to me basically a really far, really expensive really big URE with some bigger obstacles tossed in every several trail miles. Just my honest .02¢

Can you cover all of each in that time?
I cant speak for GM and no probably not for WR.I was just throwin that out there. Its been years since Ive been to WR so I don't know for sure how much they've added, sounds like quite a bit.

The cost of admission always kept me goin to other places.I can be in Harlan in the same amount of time as WR.One advantage to WR is that its close to Oak Ridge so if you want to have a good meal u can find one.

You can cover all of GM in a few days, but the trails there are badass and you won't have any issue filling up time riding there.

Crackhead at midnight, ftw!

Btw, take a spare tire and parts if you go to GM. It can be hard on them.

There is a day's worth of good wheeling just in the vicinity of rattlerock. I've ridden quite a bit there over the yrs and I'm confused by you saying it's so far to everything.

I recently rode more than 2days worth at GMP and I think we missed some stuff. Got to ride some stuff there thanks to some local friends that I've never seen or heard of before. If it's dry it's hands down the best crawling within a day's drive of this state. AOP is only a couple hrs from windrock or gmp.

Like Ben said, take spare parts to GMP. It can eat your rig and spit out useless parts.

@Stuntman Autoworks,
Once I finish my truck, I'll guide you guys around Windrock for a weekend. There is a killer loop all within 15 minutes of the parking lot that will test your skill and your rig as well. It's a huge place. A buddy and I covered 35 miles in 1 day there 2 years ago!

GMP is a blast and I prefer it to Windrock. For me just having Saturday and Sundays off, the drive just kinda kills it. Plan on riding at Dixie Run this year at GMP and see what the hype is all about.

depending on when, if you go up to RC, I'll tour you around.
3 days worth for sure and a comp course as well.

I am not a big fan of Windrock. To me Harlan has much more to offer and is always cheaper. I camp at North Evarts by the rail road track. Why not go to the SHOP in Marion this weekend?

You need to learn to string your trails together more better.
