Been here a year now and my jeep hasnt been offroad once, its kinda depressing...

Its getting to the point now where i am struggling to validate keeping it just because i dont get to go beat it up. Idont own a tow rig so getting out to parts of NC west of Winston-Salem is questionable, especially since if i break i have no way home.

Are there any places worth wheeling in eastern NC? And i dont mean a mud hole, i want rocks :) please help though. I love this jeep and got to beat it up plenty in TX but seeing it sit unused here is killing me.

Uwharrie National Forest is the local spot for most of us. 16 miles total (about 3 of those closed right now) of trails. The OHV trails shut down December 15th to April 1st. There's nothing crazy challenging at Uwharrie to most seasoned wheelers but if you enjoy the rocks and just being out in the woods enjoying the scenery then it's the place to go. It's a beautiful place with some fun easy trails and a couple that some consider hard.

It's 120 miles from here to the outpost at the Uwharries.Closest LEGAL place to go. There will be several of us going back the weekend of 13th,14th,and 15th of december.More than welcome to come along. Also, don't stress a way back for you or your rig if something happens. We practice an open trailer policy.

Chris,pm on here Mike (OllllO Fanatic) and talk with him some. He's on base also, wheeled in Texas, and rode with me saturday. Him and his wife both are good folks. He can tell you about his impression of UNF since this was his first time going.

yea.Lookin at getting a big site over at arrowhead campground so we can use electricity for heat in the tents. We will be leaving after work friday afternoon, leaving straight from the office and picking up folks along the way or meeting down there.Eat at Zeno's in Troy after the tents are set up.get up early sat. morning and I'll cook breakfast both days.Ride all day saturday and then go back to camp and cook supper.Ride some sunday mornin and then load up to come home. Some of us will stop in Dunn at las brissas and get Mexican for sunday dinner. Ain't like we haven't done this before!
