Once in a while I do some laundry, and its become apparent that my wife and I have 2 opinions on this. I'm just curious how everyone else will respond. So as not to skew the poll, I won't say which side I'm on just yet :D

I don't do much laundry since my wife knows her place but what little I do I empty it every time.

And don't forget to clean the hose and trap once in a while.

x100 Just cleaned mine last week...it must have been a little longer than I thought since last done, it was pretty bad. Went to one fire (a long, long time ago)...we figured it had smoldered in the vent 24 hours since the last load of clothes.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear, I thought it was a give it gets emptied everytime. The first choice is emptied immediately after you pull the dry clothes, the second one is where you leave it for the next person to empty when they come with a new wet load.

We probably don't empty it until the next load. That's always when I check it, anyway.

Do'h, in that case I gave the wrong answer, I don't empty it till the next load.

Put wet clothes in, toss is dryer sheet, clean lint trap screen.

Pull dry clothes out, find the used dryer sheet, use it to help peel the lint from the filter. Lather, rinse, repeat. At least, that's how it is when I do the laundry. When Me Lady's been doing it, you can tell how many loads she's done by counting the layers on the filter.

I always clean the trap when I put a load of clothes in the dryer. My wife will let a quilt start in the trap.

I never had a washer and dryer in my trail rig! What will they think of next?

This is the exact protocol at my house too. She always claims she cleans it every time, but every couple of weeks I have to do my own clothes, and it always seems about 4 times thicker than a 1 load linting.

Put wet clothes in, add dryer sheet, empty lent catch because someone forgot to empty it again, remove dry clothes and empty again.

Did a standby for a working fire tonight for a dryer caught on fire 4th or 5th in the past 6 mos. every time right before I run it

I get the same line. I'll never understand it. I've done laundry all my life. I've NEVER seen one load of clothes, even towels as she likes to blame it on, fill up a lint filter. Especially not with four distinct layers of color!

It doesn't matter as long as it gets cleaned out before it is turned on.

The wifey said'' take the clothes out of the washer and toss in dryer...gather up my loose change from the washer and stash it in her laundry money jar...add snuggle..clean lint trap..start dryer''
