So the wife and I were wheeling down some back roads to pick up the MIL’s dead Caddie and take to the shop, long story there. When she wheels around in her seat intently looking out the window for a minute then says, babe that’s a nice nova under that shed back there…. Followed by we do already have the trailer…. Ah she does support my bad habits. Love that woman.

Are you sure you're not married to a dude?

We had been dating about a year when she helped me bring home the first "parts vehicle". It was her sister's and had been sitting a few years.

She was driving the V8 4wd sport 4runner in the background. I put a ring on it 🤣.

Few years later we bought this from her sister too.

Well from the other sex.. 2Bad marriages and now on 3 with Tanker... Hes taught how to drive a dually with a trailer load said trailer.. We dont do normal flowers, cards more like tools food... Treats me as a equal even with 10 kids? I think... All dogs.. Work on my XJs still wont do motor builds yet... Had dreamed of growing up living on the side of mountain with a pack of dogs... Well the Tanker made it happen...Even with parts missing an TBI I wont git rid of him...

It’s amazing how easy it is when you complement each other and support the others bad habits. Glad you have “the one” as well.

My wife puts up with way more than most logical and sane women will, my friends tell me that all the time.

Although we have been looking for a camper, so we went by Camping World just to look around and see what we liked before we wasted anyone's time looking at their camper. I mean, other than the salesman at Camping World. When we left she was playing on her phone as we drove and after a while she was like "I've been reading on fixing up old campers, I think we should do that instead, looks like a lot of fun." I was like, who are you?

FWIW do not buy shit from crapping world. They are trash as a company. I would drink gas just to piss on em if they were on fire.

Also, when I was looking years ago a bunch of people told me to buy one a couple years old so the initial depreciation was gone and the kinks had been worked out. Look for one that has set under a roof/ barn cause every camper is a constant battle to prevent roof leaks.

Oh, we definitely won't be buying from a dealer. We have two boys who are pretty tall and just wanted to see which bunks they would be comfortable in. We didn't want to go out to a private seller only to have our boys not fit and waste their time. My parents bought a camper from CW a couple years ago just because they wanted to buy a brand new one, mostly because they could. The guys there tried to sell them a hitch and a brake box for their Durango for like $1500+. He brought his Durango to my shop and we installed the biggest hitch we could find for it and a really good brake box, had like $600 in it. He went to pick his camper up and they said his hitch was too small and they wouldn't help him hook it up, which wasn't a big deal for him, but they basically told him I was a hack and didn't know what I was doing.

My moment of realization came when I was doing a one-day swap of a SBC in my '72 El Camino (crank snout broke off the 400, slammed in a "rebuilt" 350) @ my Dad's shop...she was riding 350 that was hanging off of an electric trolley hoist, working the controls, all the while I'm mating it up to the TH400 under the car. Raise, lower, lean forward, lean back, etc...worked like a charm. Finished up, she said that was fun, what's next? 26 years later, same approach to helping me with my projects.

I would like to have seen the traffic going by the shop w/ a 5'5" 115-lb lady riding a small block Chevy like a surfboard....

One thing I love is people coming over see my TJ or XJ an start asking Tanker how it was made,, bought... He looks at them an tells them to talk to me...Guess thats what I get for helping raise 4 younger brothers,, plus being a Chew Chief... Tanker starts a sentence an I finish it..
