I need to find somewhere that will straighten an aluminum wheel asap. My girlfriend hit a pothole and bent the lip of the wheel. Anybody know of a place near WNC that does this?

best bet, look at rockauto.com they sell reman wheels, reasonable prices ( comparable to exchange of having one straightened )

I exchanged 2 wheels for my old Honda a few years ago, that was $125 EA EXCHANGE
the place I used was called The WHEEL EXCHANGE, based out of Raleigh area, they had an online site, may want to check

Spaugh Automotive in W-S will do it for about $40. Do a great job, too. It will need painting afterwards, though. I think they use heat to help shape it.

Don't know if this place is still in buisness or not but they straightened a good friend of mine's wheel for $15. Took them about 5 minutes. Dude told my buddy to "bring something more pretzeled next time". :)

Anyways, I took note of the place considering I couldn't find anyone around Raleigh at the time. This was in April of 2002.

Pending on the depth of bend or how sharply its creased, I can do it. Most are a cast piece, few are high end enough to be billet blanks turned out. Either way I've repaired several. I've also ran into wheels with a alloy bead reinforcement cast int the outer lip, similar looking to bronze, it can make straightening and welding a b@#$h. Call me 828-217-3994, I'm rarely online anymore.

It's an aftermarket wheel that is not available anymore.
