Where, in or near Charlotte, to off-road?

My wife just got a new Jeep for Christmas. It needs to be "broken in."

Does anyone know of somewhere in or around Charlotte where a newbie can try her hand off-road? I'm sure most anywhere would be a lot of fun, and I'd love to hear your suggestions.

closest places would be Gulches in Laurens, SC or Uwharrie National Forest near Troy, NC however Uwharrie offroad trails are closed for season.

There are several clubs on this forum that have regularly scheduled rides. The Carolina Trailblazers do 1 ride per month. Feel free to meet up with us sometime.

gulches is not somewhere i would want to break-in a new vehicle, but URE is in fact me and some friends are planning a ride up there to break-in my 720 once it reopens.

Gulches has plenty of easy, beginner trails.

I took a 2000 dodge durango through some of the gulches trails. So a jeep will be just fine.
