Looking for a brushcutter, something like the Husq 345FR.

Went to a local saw shop...the ONLY thing they wanted to sell me was the one bike-handle cutter they stocked (90?). Asked for details and info, all I got was a Husqvarna catalog, and told "all the specs are in there". More knowledgeable guy came out of the back room, and only tried pushing me to a $3k DR, instead of what I knew I needed.

Want to buy from a shop that: 1) has more than one model of the type I want in stock; 2) is willing to sell me more than that one model; 3) has any product knowledge at all; 4) listens to the customers needs before recommending anything; and 5) no BS

Any recommendations?

Good luck, I've had trouble with salesmans lately it's like they don't want your business.

Have you tried Carthage saw and mower. They sell husky and stihl products. Everybody there was extremely helpful when I was looking at new saws last year.

I have had really good luck at Raeford Hardware. They stock Stihl and Husky.

Hard to beat the Stihl FS line of brushcutters. Be warned that most Stihl dealers will not stock the larger brushcutters simply because they do not sell...ever. However, a dealer will order you one and will receive it rather quickly.

Stihl over any other. I have a stihl km110r it is a power head that accepts many attachments including a brush cutter. I have the brush cutter, weedeater, pole saw, tiller, and edger attachments never had a single problem out of it. No idea about a dealer though, I tend to do the research and figure out what it is that I want and buy from whoever has the best pricing

I've been very pleased with my Echo SRM410. Not sure about your area but the local Echo dealer in Henderson had them in stock.

It is not close to you, but Farmers Feed and Seed in Kernersville is great to deal with.

All I have is a weedeater and chainsaws, but my next brush cutter will look something like this:
