Looking for a few quarts of their 5w-30 hydraulic/tractor oil. 'Local dealers' I've called seem to be individuals who don't do much with it. Websites seem to loop back to amsoil's site. Pretty annoying.

I had a similar issue and also found I could get it a bit cheaper that "local" dealers by going directly through Amsoil and joining their preferred customer program. It cost something like $10-$20 but gives you a discount on your purchase. I look at it like a Sams Club card. I ended up needing enough oil to make it worth while and then some. You'll have to look into it for yourself, but you can even become a dealer for a little more if you find yourself and friends using a lot of the stuff that may be worth it and you could make a little side money. From what I understand they drop ship just about everything anyway do all you would be doing is placing orders and taking payment. Don't quote me on that though, I did not dig deep enough to get all of the fine print.

Just bought the same fluid for my power steering setup. I ordered off their website on Friday and it was on my porch Monday via UPS. I had to pay NC sales tax and a $7.50 shipping fee(6 quarts). When it asked about a dealer I just marked "no preference" and paid with a card.

Some of the NAPA stores carry Amsoil stuff depending on who runs them and whatever the franchise stuff works. I'm surprised you're having problems finding some though; I keep coming across people that want me to buy it, even my real estate agent a few years ago had mentioned that her husband or brother or something was a dealer.

Many of my past Amsoil dealings were of the "come down to the basement, it's all down there" type, which is always awesome when you're dealing with strangers of various levels of creepy appearance in a remote cul-de-sac in a rundown neighborhood or in very rural areas of town.

How about you keep your Amsoil products in the garage instead, and preferably not with a really large chest freezer nearby?

I haven't bought Amsoil in a few years because of things like that, but that was in Colorado.

I think Universal Automotive in Concord sells Amsoil...

I got a few hits for distributors with google "Charlotte Amsoil". Don't know if any where near you? A couple was mobile.

WHY? I suspect Mobile 1 is just as good, but I haven't priced it.
I am an old Chevy tech and when the oil fill on a Corvette said use Mobil1 I knew it was some good stuff. Went to demonstrations and watched them prove it. Now that being said I put several hours of research into my steering system fluid and used (PSC recommended it to stay in warranty compliance) Swepco 715 for approx the last year until my pump started to get weak and decided after reading what PSCs warranty actually covered I would take my chances and use (in my research) the best multi viscosity fluid I could he my hands on.

Before I replied, I did goggle Mobil 1, to see if they did have hyd oil. There was Plenty of threads on Hyd oils, but I didn't have time to research them.
I'll just take you guys word on hyd oil, as I'm not experienced with it. "Alls well, in Mayberry"!
