We're in the process of moving into our new house and we need some blinds in a bad sort of way. I didn't realize there were so many different places online to buy blinds. I'd only ever heard of blinds.com on Glenn Beck  We have tall twin and double windows and the first size I put in was $75 per window. Fuuuu.... I then went to Directbuyblinds.com and the same blinds (2" faux wood) was $60 per window. Any suggestions?

Lowe’s has 40% off on Levoler Custom blinds until the 11th. We put them in our house 7 years ago and they have held up fine.

We got Levelor through Lowe's on sale too. Ours are cellular shades because I hate Venetian blinds. Depends on your style, but there other options out there than just traditional blinds.

We got most of our blinds from lowes for the new house last year. Picked out on levelor site and using sample book at lowes, ordered via lowes desk. Shop the sales and it's hard to beat the prices. Shipped direct from levelor to us. Color wasn't what we expected on one (fabric strip didn't exactly match color in the Lowes book). Levelor re-made the blind, shipped it express, and let us keep the old one.

(We still have the old one...if you can use a 2" white blind 64.5" wide and 60" high (iirc, I need to check), I'll make you a deal.)

Be careful, some sizes have a tremendous price jump. At our old house, one blind, if it was a half-inch shorter, would have been a couple hundred cheaper. Found it somewhere else without the price jump (iirc it was like 90.5" wide). At lowes, that crossed into "special order" territory.

We ordered one roman shade from selectblinds.com. Ordered fabric/color samples first, and they came with a 45% off coupon. Only complaint about them, is after they had our email, the spam was relentless. I just directed it to a subfolder so I could see how long it went on, and for several weeks it was like 1 email every half hour. Tapered off to one a day for a few months, then none. This was AFTER I'd made an order. You'd think they'd figure I had bought what I needed and was done.

Most of the windows on the front and front sides of the house (under the porches) we used plantation shutters. Got them from The Shutter Production Custom Shutter Manufacturer They are made a lot nicer and fit better than the ones at lowes/etc. I.E. inset into window frame vs. overlay frame one fits all at lowes.

For me if the objective is just to obstruct view and keep out sun light, I used to staple towels to the wall...wife said that was a no go now but I wasn't about to spend $70+ on blinds, so the compromise was linen drapes.

Wal-Mart. That's right! We buy the cheapo $5 blinds. Yea they look kinda cheap but the wife has curtains and stuff dressing up the window. Here's the catch though. We have never cleaned blinds because we just throw them out and buy new ones! Saves lots of time and aggravation!

It’s super easy to clean them. Dunk them in the bathtub with a soapy solution of your choice.

Thanks for all the responses guys. @jyaks suggested a place local to us that did his so I'm going to give them a call and get a quote from them and then get one from lowes.

@UTfball68 I'm with you on the drapes, if it was just up to me that's what I would do, but alas, the Mrs has a say...
