Ok, so I spent about an hour searching, with no real answers found.

I'm looking to buy some DOM in the future, and I'm looking for a local steel dealer that is good to work with. Somewhere in the Rocky Mount/Greenville/Raleigh area. I know of a couple steel shops in RM, (Dillon Supply), and Barnes Tin Shop, but both require that I order ALOT of it at one time...like 200 ft or more, which is a bit much if i am just building links for the back of a jeep.....just an example....I do not mind having to order it, or having to order alot, just not too much at one time.

And does anyone recommend ( sp?) anyone in particular?

As of now,
I'm interested in some 2.0" OD .250" wall, 2.5" OD .5" wall, some 1.75 .120 wall, and need to know the options on being able to get something around 2.0" OD .17-.22 wall.

Just wanted to find out info, and get some contacts down, so i can figure out how much of, and exactly what I want, and the prices. :huggy:

I tried to get tubing from ryerson in greensboro but that place is a joke, I had a horrible experience with their customer service, and I won't be going back.

bad customer service with Ryerson??? In the past 5 or 6 years, I've ordered over $12,000 worth of tubing from them and never had anything but great service, prices, and products...

You can try Metals USA, EMJ, Stock Car Steel in Charlotte, Gulf Stream, Chatam Steel, BMG in Wilson, Marmon Keystone, etc. etc.

Ferguson and Murray Supply can even get the DOM...

There are tons of places and most all of them deliver.

Ryerson is also where we get most of our metal for work as well, and we prob. spend over $1Million a year on metal, if not more...

I also had good luck with ryerson... I spent about $700 with them and had not so good luck with customer service.

My pickup date/time was delayed a few days while they waited to pull my materials out from under what they called a mountain of steel and then a couple more days for them to put the steel away. Then waited an hour to have them pull my materials from the racks. Little to no communication from them.

I have to say that residential customers are likely not their key customer demographic.

That being said, the price was the best around and made up for the hassle.
