Looking to replace the cable on our brush truck with synthetic rope. Who has the best selection?

Why rope? Would that be a giant flaw (fire/heat not friendly to synthetic rope)? What would be it’s average payload?

I’d think if you got the truck that close to the heat/fire, you’re already messing up. Just my $.02.

If you are using a winch, you are already in trouble/a tight spot. Plus fire spreads quickly. No telling what the situation would be. This is a duty truck, not a SEMA mall crawler :D

Not like we all drive Land Rover's, then fire would be a real possibility.

I've never ordered from SouthEast but I have seen they're work and it's top notch stuff. If I ever stop being cheap I'd order rope from them.

I get what you’re saying, but these guys also clear debris from roadways. Downed trees and such. It doesn’t have to be on fire.

Not using it for this purpose!

Exactly. The winch doesn't really get used for life safety purpose but we pull trees and dumb fireman from ditches. I can also see scenarios of using the winch to pull a Stokes basket over an embankment. these are usually not high-stress payloads so not having the wire to you cut your hand seems to be a smart move.

plus I can't plus I can't seem to train a dumb fireman to properly wrap a steel winch cable without putting kinks in it. Or they will use it and not wrap it tight there for causing kinks and frays.

How about to stabalize a car?

We switched our medical truck an f150 to synthetic because it is easier to handle. But has been used twice to recover an ambulance when it got stuck.
