I'm looking for a 12v auxiliary relay that will time delay when turning off. I want to put an electric fan in my WJ, and I want to be able to turn the engine off and have the fan run for 5-10, maybe 15 minutes afterwards, then time out. Anyone know where to find one?

So far I've only found this one: http://www.inpowerllc.com/docs/PDS-60D.pdf

the only problem is that running the fan to long would kill the battery, but 15 mins shouldnt hurt it. unless your battery is going bad.

But whats the point?
Once you kill the motor the water isnt circulating so at beest you are cooling the coolant in the radiator only...

The air does blow past the motor, too. On a hot day, the temps underhood can actually rise after stopping. There must be something to it. Pretty much every vehicle equipped with an electric fan is capable of doing this same thing, hence the warning on the radiator support that "the fan may come on with the vehicle off."

This. You wouldn't be doing anything but putting a 30 amp load on your battery for 15 minutes. Drive the truck for a few short trips and see if it starts again the fourth time. You could build something with a 555 timer but a better bet would be to just have the fan powered by a thermostat straight from the battery. Then it would run for as long as needed rather than the extra 12 minutes or at all.

:edit: A wj shouldn't have any problems with cooling anyway using the stock fan?
