So I am planning on getting my sister an iPod for Christmas. But I thought I'd be a total douche bag and take the iPod out of the box and replace it with a lump of coal.

So where to get coal? I don't need a big piece. Thank you + God Bless.

Hey Max, if all else fails...theres always grilling charcoal. Probably the closest you will get.
Happy Holidays to you, Max.

Someone working at a Coal fired power plant...or a piece that "falls off" a railcar headed there...but I don't live in Charlotte and wouldnt quite know where that would be....good luck

I always grab a few pieces when we go to Harlan for just such times. Heading towards High Point anytime?

Good idea Snappy....we saw plenty of coal before when wheeling in WV.

Dylan, I like the charcoal idea. I'll go with that if all else fails but real coal would be awesome.

BigJUGGY, there aren't any coal plants near Charlotte (we've got two bigass nuke plants here) but I wish I had remembered. When I was at college I somehow ended up next to the power facility and they had coal.

snappy, I don't ever remember seeing coal at Harlan! Now at Rausch Creek, my god. You get black lung just driving around. There are piles of coal everywhere.

I'm going to keep my eyes open and keep asking. Actually, what I should do is get a bunch of it and then sell it for other jackasses such as myself to put in Christmas presents
