I live in goldsboro any help would be great thanks

only LEGAL place I know of around here for mud would be Croatan National Forest or near Wilmington is Carolina Backwoods(I think is the name).

Lexington mud pit has some good pits. I personally don't think it's taken care of like it was years back. But it has some deep holes(that's what she said) haha

Sent from my microwave using a teleportation device.

If you go to Lexington, expect some drunks. That place is an accident (or worse) waiting to happen.

Busco beach? doesnt have a 4x4 area?
Naw man,Jack doesn't have it set up for large vehicles.ATVs only. With all the land he has aquired there, you would think he'd set up an area for us.I live a little more than a mile from there but the trails come nearly up to my house down along the river.

The croatan is NOT legal.

When did that start? They had loads of trails. Muddy bottomless pits, but they were trails, and had maps of the trails off the gravel rs roads.

They've been giving out tickets for at least a couple years now. I had been told it was legal and a ranger made sure to correct that with a $150 ticket...the only thing that is legal for off roading is the atv/dirt bike trails.

I went and looked on the website and sure enough the one trail listed had vehicles with less than a 50 inch wheelbase being allowed.I didn't know they had cut out full size vehicles.Wonder how you can go about getting the info as to WHY and WHEN all this came down.

I dont know, and I dont know why. If you ask me, there isn't much out there to preserve. No scenic views, thats for sure. Maybe endangered animals?

The last time I went to Croatan was a long time ago. It was a wet season and some of the smaller legal roads were flooded, rutted or about unpassable. I would hate to get stuck on some of those isolated trails/rds. alone. It might be a long walk for help! I've seen some beautifull places there also when it's not hot and buggy in the summer.
