Have to go down there Monday, need to get a hotel room.

Any recommendations? Will need to stay within the city.

Oh yeah, any good places to eat, etc?

Thanks!

Any hotel really other than the triangle motor inn. It's trashy. Stayed at the holiday inn about 9yrs ago. That's not much help though. Lots of people seem to like brothers BBQ on gum branch.

I know you said in town Macdaddy...........but if I came all the way from Hickory, I would have to stay at Emerald Isle or Surf city,Topsail beach and make the 1/2 hr or so commute daily, if I could find an oceanfront ( or almost ) room in the mentioned towns. Before June 1 you could have gotten a room at the Islander in EI for $60 a night! Sun thru Fri. according to their website.

Just going to be there for 1 night for a job interview. Not really a vacation trip.

The Triangle Motor Lodge all the way. 15 minutes being there you will get a knock on the door from a less than attractive women wanting to know if she do any "services" for you.

So FWIW, I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express down there. Great hotel, good service, walking distance to Wal-Mart, a Taco Bell, a sports bar, and a mexican place called Pancho Villa.

Super Wal Mart is the place to be in jville.

I went. I always go to the Wal-Mart when I go on a job interview somewhere Ive never been before. Best place to get a sense of the community since almost everyone goes. One of the more interesting ones Ive been in. Call me crazy, but are there TWO Super Wal-Marts?

yeah there is 2 in like a 10 mile radius of each other. and there both always packed makes no sense

Okay. I thought I was insane. I was driving down some road and saw one, and was certain it wasn't the same one I stayed next to. Also call me crazy, but I kind of liked it down there.
