I have Alltel and don't think the service is as good as it should be. In the Concord/Kannapolis area who has the least bad service?

I live in Charlotte but teach in Kannapolis and my Verizon always seems to work well up there. The only dead zone is on parts of route 3 heading towards Mooresville. I dropped Cingular because their coverage sucked. Happy with Verizon for the past year.

X2 on verizon, have had them for 5 years. Customer no service is no better or no worse then the others. Anytime I've had an issue, I just go to a store, talk to a manager, bypassing Customer no service.

I had Nextel for 10+ years... great signal anywhere along a major highway, but sucked in "more rural areas"...
Had Cingular for about 14 months... just plain sucks ANYWHERE other directly beside a tower! Including my house near Rural Hall which seems to be at the fringe of coverage
11 months from now, my plan is going to Verizon (unless there's some major sucking up from Cingular & the tower count gets fixed! :shaking: )

I have had nextel for years and they Suck for coverage and exceled in customer no service.

but the phone and service is free form work so i really can't complain too much.

I'll add to the Cingular being ok at best count...I've had them for years, and calls fade in and out, even in areas you'd think would be high coverage (Like on NCSU campus)

Alltel or Verizon..... No doubt, I've had Alltel for a long time, and can still get a signal in BFE. Others say the same about Verizon. Every other service provider I
ve heard people complain about signals.

GET AN ANALOG/DIGITAL PHONE!
This makes a huge difference, especially in BFE.

Alltel is okay actually

I generally have signal while my friends have none, plus they have decent phones. On the customer service end though, they are as slow as anything..

Well in my case I was really happy with Cingular until they ended there Roam to Home Contract with Suncom. So now the service sucks because I do not have service in as many places as I did when we could roam onto suncom's network.

I'm not near Concord or anything... When I lived down in Georgia, I had Alltel. It was awesome! Signal nearly everywhere I went, even when other people had none. I moved up here to Hendersonville, my Alltel signal became All-Hell. I've switched to Verizon since. Haven't had any signal problems.

I've got to throw another vote in for Verizon. I have been very happy with it for about two years now.

alltell is probably the best for the eastern part of the state.

for the eastern part of the state and travelling to the west i have had no problms with uscellular im on a regional plan and have had good coverage everywhere ive been from nags head to winston salem to spartansburg sc to hampton va zero dead spots that ive noticed

I have Nextel and like it, but I live near a major highway. If you go to far from a major road Nextel sucks. The direct connect is nice, they don't round to the nearest min., goes by seconds. Around Charlotte I like Nextel.

nextel customer service now SUCKS. If I break my phone I can not go to the store and get them to replace it like I use to. now I have to wait 3-8 business days for them to send me a new one, then retun my old one.

Are you planning on breaking your phone?

Don't neglect to look at your phone itself as part of the problem. Is your phone still analog capable?

We've had Alltel for several years now, and have been very satisfied.

I was just getting ready to say that. I have been side by side with a friend of mine on many occasions, and his phone is digital/analog, whereas mine is just digital. he always has signal when i don't, in fact he pretty much always has signal now that i think about it.
