After seeing pics of Uwharrie this past weekend and remembering how dry it was last summer, I started thinking...Would you rather wheel in extremely dry conditions or have it extremely muddy? I would make this a poll to vote on but can't figure out if there is an option to do so...

Considering the amount of public lands that are being closed due to erosion/crap. I would go with dry, yes the dust sucks but at least we can wheel. When it's muddy, you have to stay on it too much to get anywhere. You also get the bigheaded yahoos and their crazy stupid hp motors showing off which leads to more problems.

dry

no question about it, more traction, less time on the rev limiter, and i can drive over bigger rocks.

just wear a bandana jesse james style if it is dusty.

I'm from the FLAT lands down here, so I do enjoy playing in the mud, but if the trail is of any decent difficulty dry weather is much easier on the rig, much easier to clean up after, and every bit as much fun. Wheeling around home in dry weather is kinda like driving down a dirt road though.

This is not tech, it's moved to chitchat

I choose dry but what I'd really like are conditions that are dry 2/3 of the time. I like a mix of both.

FWIW, dry is always better at the campfire.

See I don't like Camping, I like it when you go wheel all day then go home at the end of the day.

IDK, I'm an Eagle scout so I got more than my fair share of camping as a kid, I like sleeping in my own bed with a shower and tv and most importantly kitchen within a few feet ;)

Rain or shine here is my idea of camping at Uwharrie: Leave URE ride 7 miles back towards Troy. Pull into cabin driveway. Unlock gate & drive in. Light grill pop open the first Shiner Bock of the day. Clean up a bit. Throw steaks on the grill & have 2nd Shiner Bock. Eat steak and repeat Shiner Bock as seen fit. Have a peaceful night of sleep away from URE.

i would love to go there when it was wet and muddy, but then again i would not want to take my tj then because i'd be stuck only doing the easy trails, if i had something big that i didnt care about body damage and had some swampers on then i'd love to go there in heavy rain and mud,
then again going there dry on something with bigger than 33's everything would be too easy and it wouldn't be that fun, only real challenging thing would be kodak rock but thats so small compared to everything else

dry, wet, snowy, whatever, I just prefer to be able to wheel.
However, dry is much easier on my rig.

Everyone always says that mud messes up there junk but I have yet to break anything in mud but almost always break whenever I do rocks/trails . . . .

well who would have thunk.... bacon is in the lead :D

I mean, come on, thats not even fair, how can anyone not vote for Bacon, thats just Un-American and makes you a communist if you don't like it
