So my moms lookin to buy a new jeep 4 door rubicon... She is trying to decide between a manual with the soft top, soft top windows and the half doors. Or to get the manual with the soft top and full doors... Both are gonna be white.

Which one should she get?She currently has an 07 White 4 Door Rubi leased, trading out of it so she can build her jeep up like i have mine.. Let me know what you think...

Go with the full doors but if she is planning on wheeling it, half doors are nice to have too. I have both. They give better visibility, as long as the window is removed, and still offer some protection from invading mud and water.

Is she really gonna wheel it? Or is this a, "I want to try out wheeling" purchase? Be honest because having full doors on the trail is ok but half doors are better. As a rig that will primarily be a city truck and partial wheeler full doors would be way better because of the ease of use, they windows won't get scratched up after the occasional trip to URE and in the winter you can scrap off the ice. Sure you could take either door off on the trail but sometimes it's to wet or cold to justify it.

OH and what the heck do your parents do for a living?? because I know I can't afford to go out and get a 4 door Rubi just to play offroad.

When I bought my first TJ I remember being shocked at how cheap the full door upgrade costs compared to how much a set of used full doors was worth. Don't quote me on this, but I think it was a $125 option. If that's still the case then I would 100% recommend getting the full doors from the factory and buying a set of used half doors for trail use if you really want them. That way you'll get the nicer glass windows for all your highway driving and still have a set you can beat up on the trail if you want to.

My dads an investment banker in washington DC and my mom just deals and takes care of me and does some investing. Yeah she's gonna seriously wheel it. She wants it to wheel. She has a lexus for a dd if she doesn't love the half doors. I guess she could always buy full doors and half doors haha

At least we know some of the bank bailout money went to good use.

Daaaaang either one of these TJ's is a good purchase!

2005 Jeep Rubicon $15K obo all it needs is cage & winch and your mom could dominate any JK rubicon out there!

Personally if I had cash I'd go with option A based on the D44's with the deeper gears 4.88's (vs. the TJ's 4.56s), lower milage, and chromos up front. Sounds like mom could easily get a cage and winch added from a local fab shop. oh and it's got the full doors that she likes too!

ok I spent way to much time writing this :shaking:
