I am looking to put a lift on my 93 XJ and wanna keep it under $700. It has a 2.5L 4 cylinder with a 5 speed tranny. I want to run 31's but im not sure it will turn them good. What is the best lift for around $700 or less for me, lift brands and lift heights? Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Rusty's 3" add a leaf kit should run you about $300 shipped. Best performance for dollar imo if you're looking for new parts. For a junkyard lift look for V8 ZJ front coils, S-10 rear leaf packs and add a 2" spacer in the front and you'll be good to go. Should cost you about $100 to $150.

For a great ride, handling, and lifetime warranty, I have the BDS 3" in stock at 590.15 delivered to you. The kit includes,

3" Jeep Cherokee XJ Coil Spring System

This kit comes with two front Pro-Ride coil springs that are capable of withstanding full coil bind, transfer case drop, extended sway bar links, and a front track bar relocation bracket to properly center your axle. The rear is lifted with a 5/8" block and a long thin add-a-leaf to add height while not creating a harsh ride.

I would avoid any thing from Rough Country or Rustys off road. They have proven to be of very poor quality.

I have run Rusty's stuff on a few rigs now and have wheeled them quite hard and have yet to have any problems. Each persons experience is different though.

Anoter vote to avoid Rusty's.. I dont like his customer service and his shipping prices are about stupid.

Rough Country's cheap and quality isnt the best but they have awesome customer service.

For the best riding 3" lift you're looking at Old Man Emu
http://www.dpgoffroad.com/XJ_OME_Kits.htm
That kit's not bid seeing you get, coils, leaf packs, OME shocks, and JKS quicker Discos.. It will also net you right around 3" of lift.

www.DC4wd.com can probably get you into the RE4.5" Superflex kit for aound $800.00 or less shipped. JUST sub in 3.5" springs and sell the rear shackle and recoup a little $$

That kit is probably the most complete kit you're going to find. Adj. trackbar, brake lines, disconnects, arms, etc.

I would avoid Add A Leafs and blocks. And you need to realize that most 3.5" kits are going to net you around 5.5" of lift or so on a XJ w/o armor, bumpers, winch, etc. If you're looking to stay around 3" from the start I would go Old Man Emu. IF you want a complete kit that is easily sellable when you decide to upgrade (or easily upgradable) I'd get the RE4.5" superflex kit w/ 3.5" springs...

Just me $0.02

ALSO: hop on www.NAXJA.org <-- site decidated to XJ's w/ tons of useful info..

So you guys bashing Rusty's,
Did you have personal experience with him?
Or just "I heard it on the intarweb he is teh suck"

So far I've dealt with 3 lifts from him, only issue on 2 of them was he said "you shouldn't need a tcase drop, and both times we did. He shipped it next day when we called both times, and covered the shipping on that.

As for RE, everyone also says their the awesome. I've dealt with them 4 times. Only once did I get the right, fully assembled part, with all it's bits. (Front upper adjustable control arms)
And every time having to deal with them sending the missing pieces/correct bits is worse than pulling teeth.

So every company/experience can differ.
But for a 93, like was said, i would avoid add a leafs. Your springs are 15 years old. It's time to retire them and replace them with a whole new spring pack.

Edit: If you go the Rusty's route. Call him. Just like DC4wd. Rusty's shipping calculator on his web page is crap. Prices aren't always right either.

Im not gonna be wheeling it very often, just every once in a while. What about the RE 3.5" super flex kit? Or the Rough Country 4.5" kit?
