Maybe the wrong thread and there might already be a thread on this subject. I'm looking to get into my 1st side by side and want to know peoples opinions. I'm looking at the RZR 900xc or S version or a Can-Am commander 1000 either in stock PS trim or XT. Which is better? Not working either and the CAN AM has a 2 year warranty and is 2K cheaper for a stock commander 1000 PS. What's everyone's opinion on either or both? WHICH WOULD YOU BUY AND WHY!!! Thanks!

I'd go with a 570 rzr or just plain 800 that's 50 inches wide not sure if they make a 900 that's narrow. I have a 800 commander xt it's nice and fun but to damn big to trail ride

They don't offer a 800 version anymore Adam, but they do offer a 900 that's normal 50'' width

If you want a fun machine go with the maverick or rzr 1000. Just don't get the base model. When you have it, get the shocks reworked first. If you're gonna use it for work, go for the commander. If you have a bad back, don't get anything else.

I'm partial to can am, but they are both fun. Maverick 1000 turbo is next on my list. There are some good used mavericks available, just be sure they haven't been run through the mud (high hours/low miles).

DO NOT get any version of a RZR in the base model or 50" version. You can blow on them and flop them over.

I am partial to the RZR...they pretty much have the market cornered in my opinion. I had an 800 SLE, sold it and bought a XP1000. I've owned pretty much everything with a motor and wheels and this is BY FAR the most fun I've ever had.

Advice: By the sportiest (if that's a word), biggest CC you can afford NOW, cause you will be there sooner than later if you don't.

^^ Thanks John. I really cant ride a 60'' machine where I ride so I will be looking into the XC. My only fear is like you say getting bored and wanting more lol

I have had both a can am commander and now a rzr xp900. Hands down the rzr is 10x the machine the commander was, for my riding at least. I prefer the rzr over the can am due to having a better front diff setup and easier to work on. Although if you get a can am the power steering maverick is a very nice setup.

Any reason why you are not looking at the Arctic Cats? They have an incredibly well reviewed 50" and I freaking love my Wildcat 1000
