I recently bought a low milelage and original 68 Tempest. It has been sitting for 10 + years. I want to becareful when trying to start to not cause any damage. It has idiot lights so I want to install some manual gauges under the hood. I was thinking about putting a tee in a heater hose for the temperature sending unit and I'm not sure which hose has the water leaving the engine(350). The larger hose 3/4 is connected to water pump housing next to lower radiater hose. Does the water enter the bottom of the radiater and and flow up?

water should be measured by the head or the therostat housing. never herd of an accurate reading in the hose. but maybe theres a secret i dont know

I pretty sure the water enters through the top and exits the btm

Thanks for the help. I'm going to put a tee in the heater hose leaving the block feeding the heater which should give a pretty close reading. The two ports in the intake manifold are already being used and I didn't want to change or modify anything at this time.

I did not think about that. I'll crawl under today and take a look, thanks.
