real undecided here. i have a 98 TJ, 4.0L, manual trans.

here's my dilemma. i don't know which way i want to go with the lift/tires....

here are my options:

option 1: 2-2.5" lift, 1 1/4" BL, flat belly, possibly flat fenders (maybe hi-line) and 33-35's.

option 2: 3-4" lift, 1 1/4" BL, flat belly, flat fenders, 35-36" tires.

my YJ way on it's way to being WAYYYY overbuilt for most anything on the east coast (33's are pretty common-place here)

i'm wanting to keep this TJ streetable (and comfortable). my biggest decision is how much lift. not sure which way to go.

so whats your input and why?

If you go with option 2, get a good long arm setup that includes the flat skid to kill 2 birds with one rock. 35s are very streetable. Only do the body lift if you need it for your flat belly.

i vote for the body lift (for the flat belly) and hi-line fenders. no suspension lift. you can squeeze 35s on there.

I would do option 1 and 35s also

I would have to say the 2.5 with small body lift on 33,s. I have wheeld mine on this setup for a while now and have been very pleased. I do more with this combo than i did on 35,s due to I had a very tall lift( love the stability)

My jeep was the most fun on 2" spacers, bodylift, flatskid, 32's, and a lockrite.

I went all the way up to 38.5's and 1 tons, and now I'm working my way back down so it will be fun again. The plan is 35's or 36's on a 2" spacer with a hi-line.

the "small tire club" says stick with 33s and wheel it with some sense about you.Damn a point and shoot rig.

yea.... i feel 33's keep anything around here fun. hell my YJ on 35 made most stuff easy. i remember way back when (i think it was the fall crawl with SORA?) your damn near stock TJ wheeled everything that all the bigger rigs did.....

I would do the a small coil lift with good aftermarket adjustable control arms with some sort of flex joint in them to allow it to articulate better and soak of some road feedback. That will get your caster right up front and adjustment of rear pinion angle (to a certain degree, uppers help more for that cause your drivetrain thinks you have a 4" lift on it) to maintain good drive ability on the road....plus the arms will be stronger cause you know they're going to get hit.
Run a good shock like a Bilstein, shock setup and travel will be critical in getting a low lift vehicle to have all the flex where you want it cause there's less fudge room that the bigger lifts have.
Put a 1.25" body lift on it and get something like a UCF belly up skid on it.
You could run 33's all day without really have to do much fender work depending of how your shock travel is setup. You would be low, stable, have flex of the 4" lift and be a pleasure to drive on the street. You'd also have good components that would serve you well for years, we're all about doing it once and doing it right. We do carry all the parts to get you setup, plus have some specials in the vendor section that could save you a couple hundred bucks doing so, so keep us in mind. This area is our specialty.

2.5" suspension, 1" body and 35's on 15x10's. I scrubed a bit on the stock fender flares but that was about it until I did my mid arms. Get a decent set of adjustable control arms all the way around, the 2.5 flexes surprisingly well but i went through about 6 sets of bushings in my fixed lca's over a couple years of mild wheeling.

Well my lift was delivered today. Went with the RC 3.25" lift. Picking up a set of 32's tomorrow.... will have pictures after the weekend.

sent from that place where that thing is

Youll be happy with 33,s, i actually dropped down and enjoy my Jeep more oon trail and highway. Being lower and more stable is very nice.

32's no lift
Its squatting because there's five stock tires and wheels in the back.
And 3 1/4" with 32's
