Who Cuts Auto Glass?

Tempered glass? Can’t cut tempered glass. Can drill it for an antenna but you won’t cut tempered glass as it will shatter.

What do you need? My father owns Lake Norman Glass in Denver and may could help out.

I've had them cut before and figure it's tempered as I thought all auto glass was/is. It's also tinted. Yes it's flat. I have a friend a couple hours away who will gladly do it but was hoping to find someone local.

That windshield is not tempered but they are laminated safety glass. Tempered glass will shatter when you try to cut it. It may be easy. Not sure if my dad’s guys would do it or if he would be comfortable with it. They don’t typically do automotive glass.

but they have the tools and resources on site to cut, drill, and shape non-tempered glass. Not sure with it being safety glass if it’s something they would do though.


What do you need cut on the glass? Just an edge trimmed? Or what?

Make a template and take to your local glass shop and tell them you need laminated safety glass. They don’t need to know what it’s for so don’t offer that information since that could jack the price or scare them off. If you were closer I could cut one for ya.

No a complete windshield. It's okay, I'll make a trip in a couple weeks Thanks

if you just need a laminated size of flat glass, then it’s likely he can do it. He does cut laminated safety glass. They don’t install windshields though.
 
Maybe I'm missing something, but it doesn't seem like it would be worth the trouble when a new one is $100-150.

I Agree, I talked to him last week and he said he didn't have any. I've known him for years. I ordered wheels for my Willys truck from him and they are stuck in the container at the dock waiting on customs. My luck sucks as of late.
