I need to make something simple to put on the cruiser that I've been wanting to do for a long time now...

Just text, single color.

Why does it have to be custom? You can buy those little rainbow stickers just about anywhere.

:gay:

Thanks guys..

Sorry to hi-jack, but.....are stickers able to be pattened?
I should say slogans, i guess. Of course a Warn or Rancho sticker shouldnt be copied, but could you "coin" a catchy wheeling slogan and get a patten on a sticker?

You should be able to copyright or trademark the slogan/design/logo/etc. I don't think you can get a patent though.

Brent does great work! He does all of my decals.

Not exactly. Trademark maybe. http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ34.html

Names, titles, and short phrases or expressions are not subject to copyright protection. Even if a name, title, or short phrase is novel or distinctive or if it lends itself to a play on words, it cannot be protected by copyright. The Copyright Office cannot register claims to exclusive rights in brief combinations of words such as:

Names of products or services
Names of businesses, organizations, or groups (including the name of a group of performers)
Names of pseudonyms of individuals (including pen name or stage name)
Titles of works
Catchwords, catchphrases, mottoes, slogans, or short advertising expressions
Mere listings of ingredients, as in recipes, labels, or formulas. When a recipe or formula is accompanied by explanation or directions, the text directions may be copyrightable, but the recipe or formula itself remains uncopyrightable.

Even if you could, the Costs of doing so really aren't all that Beneficial unless you're going all out with a full Marketing Campaign, Shirts, Stickers, Posters, Anything and everything you a can think of.

I looked into it for a certain phrase and it was like $5k-$10 to get a true Patent/Copyright.

Now with WARN and Rancho, they are Businesses and What's Protected with them when it comes to reproducing their name is the Logo Design. I can make Stickers all day long that have the word Warn or Rancho in them, just not an EXACT reproduction of their logo.
