I found a guy who is selling some 16.5" wheels for what i think is a good price and I was wondering what you guys thought about 16.5" wheels. Seems like I've heard a lot of bad stuff about 16.5" wheels so I just wanted to know what you guys thought about them.

most do not have an inner safety bead

plus, less and less tire manufacturers are making 16.5" tires so they start to become limited

Knowing this, I didn't hesitate to buy some H1 wheels (16.5")

So I'm guessing the Pro comp steel black wheels do not have the inner safety bead. These are the wheels that he is selling with the tires.

So can you tell by just looking at the wheel if it has a inner safety bead? If so what should I be looking for?
Also, I guess the tire comes off the bead only when you air down. Correct? If so, how low is to much where the tire breaks the bead?

You will have to pull the tire off the rim to check for the safety bead, but i wouldnt run less than 10 psi, but if you do need some H1 wheels i have some and will let em go for $150 all four

Almost all 16.5s i've seen do not have a safety bead, that said I'm running H1's and love them but then you have the double beadlock. If its just for a street truck then don't worry about it, especially if the deal is good enough.

Where can I get some tires mounted and balanced at around Raleigh? I know 4WP can do it but I don't really want weights on the outside of the rim. Anyone know where I can get them pad balanced at besides Galloway's? Anyone on here ever use BB's in their tires? They are 37 SSR.

I'm running those dynabeads on my 39.5 Iroks on 17" beadlocks. It's pretty smooth, even up to 90mph. I just followed their chart.

Where can i find some 16.5x14 wheels or what else to use 1 ton axles with 44s:confused:

A friend of mine has a set of 16.5x14 wheels on his truck that he wants to take off, I will check to see what he wants for them. though they are '02 Ford 8x170mm lug pattern...

has a set of 44" swamper STS 's on them as well, that I'm sure would need a new home as well

I will call him later this AM see what he has in mind...
