Who's in Rockingham?

Starting onTuesday..I have to do a job In Rockingham(I'll find out exactly where Monday) I'm thinking that is roughly 2 hrs each way, and I dont like the sound of all those hwy miles and long riding time.

So, I guess my question is..does anyone recomend a fairly cheap place for me and 1 employee to stay?

We could camp in the van, provided there is a power source.
any decent/cheap camp grounds around?

I hate to drive back and forth so much and its a fairly good sized insurance job, I am not sure yet, but we might be able to stay at the job-site...it was a burnout, that has now been restored...time for flooring!!!

needless to say, this is gonna put me in a bind, having to complete the job by Thursday in order to start getting ready for the ECORS race Fri-Sun...lol

There are plenty of CHEAP hotels/motels in Rockingham. Probably $40/night cheap. It's been a long time since I've needed a room down there, but I'm from that area and the rooms are dirt cheap unless there's a big golf event in Pinehurst or (at one time) the NASCAR race was going to be there.
 
If your near Eden theres a newly remodeled place on 14 called the Eden Inn thats pretty reasonable . Theres a campground over near Stoneville on the Dan River thats not bad . It all depends on where in Rockingham County you are going to be .

Yes..out near Hamlet. Somewhere near the nascar track.

I found out today that we would be able to stay in the house we are working in.

I am still gonna pack up as if we are van camping, just in case.

2 guys camping in a big white van, in front of an abandoned house? Creepy?

LOL stay at the place for sure.
Then you can just work all night, get the job done by Wed :lol:

gonna try to do that..but somewhere around the 9 oclock pm hour, it always seems like you end up working backwards, instead of accomplishing much.
 
There are some really ghetto places in Hamlet. If you're staying in the van make sure you're somewhere safe. I'm sure you know all about that though. I grew up in Laurinburg, about 20 miles past Hamlet, but have lived all through there.
 
Im gonna call the local news and have them run a story on the 2 homeless guys in the van.
