Why every country song of 2013 sounded the same...

Pretty much sums up the suck for me. We've had this conversation at work. Must be formula writing to capitalize on pop culture and the hottest trends, cause it sure isn't artistic talent in my ears. And as for being country, I got more country in my Toe Jam than most of those fake honkies jumpin around the stage.

I'm glad other people feel the same way....

It's insulting to label some of this crap " Country " music. Most radio stations won't even play REAL country music anymore, that's a shame.

Pretty much... I would be lying if I sat here and said I didn't think some of the songs were catchy, but hear it 2-3 times and I can't really listen to it anymore.
Thank god for metal.

What do you guys want in the songs. Gays, lesbians, and lemonade :flipoff2: it is not like it used to be, but he'll nothing today is

I agree that songs aren't what they used to be at all, especially country. But I admit I like a lot of those songs. Video was hilarious.

Some people are so stubborn the don't understand that generations change and nothing stays the same.

Perhaps a REAL country song to sum it all up was "time marches on" by Tracy Lawrence.

"The only thing that stays the same is, everything changes."

The only things they left out were Mom, trains, and prison.
If they had added those 3 to every song .... and maybe a dog .... then it would have been a year of "ultimate" "country" music.

BTW- this ain't country .... it's wannabe redneck pop.

That video wasted 3:29 of my life & I would like it back. Just like country music, it's a waste of sound vibration..

Ever since pop music went to rap the pop artist went country an ruined it that started all with Garth Brooks. Most of what they play on the radio today is garbage. I have not heard good talent come on the radio in a long time This is why I stream what I want to hear and most stations are now struggling with keeping their doors open because we have things like Pandora and slacker. I fart radio was put out to get people to like boy bands and pop music as well as craptry music.

I think the most recent "real country" artist was Jamey Johnson. But he never got the recognition like everyone else did cause he went against the mainstream and sung real stuff.
I like Eric Church and Justin Moore a lot, but they're both a little popish.

I don't even need to watch the video and haven't. Pop country sucks, period! And that sums up 90% of the money making bullshit you hear on fm radio today. What's sad to me is the lack of exploring by "music fans". FM radio represents an extremely small percentage of the available music out there. With sources like Pandora, slacker and YouTube the possibilities for your favorite genre are endless, do yourselves favor and use them!
Why hasn't some real music been mentioned? Instead of all these "top 40" Nashville slaves.
Check out Lucero,Reckless Kelly,Turnpike Troubadours, Chris Knight, Lost Immigrants, Cory Morrow, Stoney Larue ......

Another vote for bluegrass! :gitrdun:

x2 on Lucero. Just heard of them the other week.
Too bad Cross Canadian Ragweed is not still playing. Least we still have Reckless Kelly

And yeah another vote for blue grass or the "new" grass.
I just saw Acoustic Syndicate in CLT last weekend. Good jam-grass.

I guess I'm just differnt those are some of my fav songs do t get me wrong It's not the country we had back in the day but everything has changed

I blame Garth Brooks and music co. executives/bankers ( $$$$$$$$$$ ) for Country musics descent into an all the same sounding, Country/Pop/Rock music noise. They can call it "New" country or "Hillbilly" rock or " Modern" country, but that AIN'T ( or does not make it ) "Country" music.
This is Country music.................and Merry Christmas to ya'll
