I have a set of 79 F250 axles.... dana 44 front, dana 60 rear.

I have ordered my blue torch fab rear disc brake conversion brackets but i was told that i needed to run a 16" wheel to clear my brakes in MOST cases... so what can i do to run a 15" wheel?

if anyone can tell me if it's possible and what i'd need to do please tell me. I have no wheels or tires for my jeep at this time, but there is a set on here for sale, somewhat locally, and io can afford, just barely, and would like to buy if possible... but i need to make sure i can use them obviously.

fyi, i have only the disc brake brackets ordered for the dana 60. i have not yet ordered any calipers, rotors, etc...

thanks guys.

break out the grinder for 15" wheels

everything ive heard is that they will fit but you will be grinding a fair amount on the caliper

billavista (pirate) may have done a write up on the process, cant remember

haha, awesome guys. thanks for the quick replies...

now i wait to see if i was in time to buy these wheels and tires that i so desperatly need!

what calipers did you run on the dana 60? possible maybe i can just run smaller calipers on these blue torch brackets?

read the 60 link i showed you on pirate last week. I read something in there about certain backspaced wheels will let you run 15" rims also

I'm running a 79D60 with the big twin piston calipers and 14 bolt with disc conv. I am using 15" rims with 2.75" BS. Some grinding on the front was necessary, but none on the rear.

great. thanks a lot!

if you are running the axles full width, do you mind if i ask for a pic of your rig? i'd like to see how wide it is with 2.75" bs'ing. main thing i'd liek to see is if the hubs stick out past the tire/wheel's edge....

thanks

thanks, i've got the dual piston calipers on my front dana 44 as well so this gives me a good idea of what to expect.

thanks again for the quick responses... now i just wait for the seller to contact me back so i know that i can go get the tires and wheels :)

Yes I am running full width. It is 88.5" wide measuring from the outside of the tires. The lock out is inset 1" from the outside plane of the rim and 4" from the outside plane of the tire. 15x8 rim with 42" TSL's.

thanks man, those numbers just helped me greatly.
