will auto np231 fit on ax15

hey i have an 87 wrangler with the 4.2l and crapy drivetrain. i just bought an ax15 tranny and im lookin for a np231 t-case. if neone has a good working one for sale id be interested. but what i need to know is if a np231 t-case out of a cherokee with an auto trans would bolt to and have the same splines as my ax15 5spd tranny

no the input shaft is shorter on an auto.I found out the hard way,I bought one w/sye and pulled mine to install and found it will not work unless you swap the input shaft.

i believe the main problem is that the autos ran a 21spl input and the ax15 has a 23spline input.... a 23spl 231, 241, or d300 would work for u
