Will the Panthers step up and do the same..............

She married him after this ko. I bet Vegas has numbers on how quick the divorce will be now that he isn't making that RB $$.

Well, now that as a direct result of this video his career is over and the gravy train will slide off the tracks, I bet she dumps him as fast as he KO'ed her. Since she married him even after knowing he is an abusive a-hole, I bet she's upset that the abuse she suffered is exactly what caused her meal ticket to get punched.

I'm guessing his agent is paying her nicely to marry him. I hope she has already filed for divorce too. And I found myself wondering why Greg Hardy was on the field yesterday. Nothing like appealing your conviction and naturally delaying trial until the season is over.

Stockholm syndrome, pissed b/c she just lost her meal ticket, or just that damn stupid....... maybe all 3

Maybe I'm wrong for thinking this, but I dont see the need for the NFL (or any employer) to punish the guy that severly for something that the law enforcement didnt see fit to bring charges over. Yeah, he hit her and that was wrong; but it wasnt the horrible atatck that the media is talking about. The dude pressed the button on the elevator and then stepped away from her. She started swinging at him, and he hit her. He manned up, admitted he did it, admitted it was wrong, and accepted his punishment. Now, all of a sudden, the problem got worse?

I'm sorry, but when is it appropriate to knock a woman out? Maybe we saw a different video, but it doesn't matter if she's being the largest cunt in the world, the correct answer is never. The "nfl" pays these athletes hundreds of millions of dollars to play football and to also be (positive) role models for the kids that buy their shit.

I didnt say he was right. But I will say that the video I watched did not show him as being the aggressor. Most people will fight back if you swing at them.

I will agree with you there. There is a place for law enforcement to handle matters and there is a place for an employer to handle matters. This is definitely a law enforcement issue. If Jim-Bob Fry-Chef beats his wife, you expect Johnny Law to roll up and give him a stern talking to/beat down. You don't expect McDonalds to fire him and him to be suspended from the National FrenchFry League.

His just so happened to be captured on video tape and made a big deal BECAUSE he is in the NFL.

Again, I don't condone domestic violence at all. I don't even like imported violence.

you can take them out of the ghetto, but you cant take the ghetto out of them. someone obviously screwed up in his upbringing. I was taught to never yell or put your hand on a woman, no matter what.

I guess the league can't have two Ray's from Baltimore be accused of a crime and let them both off the hook? (cough, cough Ray Lewis). What about Rothlesbergur's bathroom rapes (plural) while his security guards the door? Hell, was Ray Caruth ever actually banned from the NFL?

I dont think we need to debate if Ray Rice's actions were right in the eyes of humanity, but if the law doesn't feel like a crime was committed, then why the witch hunt? also, he was already suspended much of the season for something that even he admitted doing, so what does the "new" video prove? that he has a powerful left hook? that if you try to hit a person in the face, they may hit back?

Its pretty simple - its a PR thing. Ray Rice represents the NFL. The NFL dosn't want the bad image he is giving. So they canned him.
Thats how it works when you represent someone. Its like that for anybody or organization that has sponsors... image is everything.

This is made even clearer by the way this has gone down. Several months ago, he committed this act, was evaluated by his employer/sponsors, had a punishment dolled out... it was resolved. No new deed has occurred. There was never any question that he punched her. The ONLY thing that has changed is how publicly visible it was... employe realized very quickly this was going to be bad PR and the only "fix" was removing him.
If it was about right and wrong, they would be touting the fact that he was already punished.

I'm glad Hardy stepped up and removed himself. I find that respectable although I highly doubt it was his idea. After the Ray Rice video was released, there has been a shit storm of CDV cases show up all of a sudden. His lawyer and the Panthers PR rep probably thought it'd help his case to be taken out of the spotlight.....
