So, Im a cheapy from way-back and I need a new windshield for a new to me CJ-3A. Do I go glass, or some kind of coated plastic/ lexan etc since its looks like I need to have one made from scratch. It will just be a farm jeep, but it needs to keep the rain out on occasion. Whats cheapest and wont scratch?

glass is the best non scratch material, but a lot of people use lexan. if you aren't worried about ballistic properties cheap would be Plexiglas. When it scratches, replace it
 
you can get non-dot safety glass at your local glass company.I use a cj2 windshield on my M38 and have replaced both sides with it.
